The coming and going of domestic and international productions never stop at Cinecittà. While director Edward Berger, fresh from 2 BAFTAs for his All Quiet on the Western Front - the Oscar-winning film for Best Foreign Language Film - has just finished shooting Conclave with Ralph Fiennes, many other titles are being wrapped and about to be disclosed in anticipation of the big screen.
Among the upcoming films, as revealed by Ansa, The Equalizer 3, a new chapter in the saga starring Denzel Washington in the role of a character much loved by the public - super-agent Robert McCall who gets to fake his own death to enjoy his retirement.
The director of the saga, Antoine Fuqua, and actors Dakota Fanning, Sonia Ammar, and Remo Girone also explored the Cinecittà studios to give life to a heart-pounding story.
Produced by Sony, Eagle Pictures, and Garbo Produzioni, the film is to be released in theaters on September 1st and is inspired, like the whole saga, by the 1980s television series The Equalizer, where the former CIA agent becomes a detective to help people in trouble or solve problems from the past.
The Equalizer 3 is one of the most recent international productions made in Cinecittà, where in recent months, Without Blood by Angelina Jolie with Salma Hayek, Book Club: the next chapter, by Bill Holderman featuring Jane Fonda and Diane Keaton, and Finally Dawn by Saverio Costanzo starring Willem Dafoe and Lily James, had already been filmed.
