Article Two deals with a topic of great and burning interest to us all today: how to cope with the huge throngs of North Africans who, have recently begun to change the face of Italy and of the rest of Europe. Little by little these emigrants have occupied the place, forsaken by the wealthier Western peoples, undertaking the menial and dangerous jobs snubbed by them, and are now trying to become a part of the host community. This heightens the sensation of uneasiness felt by many European citizens. While a number of countries are revising and modifying their immigration laws in an effort to curb the flow of foreigners, Italy is obliged to seek solutions in a context of faulty legislation and growing unease. This film takes side with novelty convinced that “…in history the grafting of races and cultures has always produced positive and mutually enriching fruits”.
