To continue spreading the Italian film classics worldwide is the objective of the International Promotion of Cultural Events and the Cinecittà Cineteca office, aiming to enhance this important heritage consisting of over 4,000 prints of the most representative films of Italian production, both in film and digital format.
All copies are subtitled in foreign languages and support the international cultural promotion activity. Every year, a program of initiatives touching an average of more than a hundred foreign cities is implemented, many of which make use of the collaboration of the most prestigious international institutions, as well as that of Italy’s local diplomatic missions. New film exhibitions are organized annually, with all films restored in digital format over the last few years, mostly complete retrospectives of great Italian filmmakers who marked the history of our cinema. Together with those in the archive, these contribute to expanding and enriching our office’s worldwide offer year after year.
An integral part of the promotion work is the organization of Italian classic film reviews abroad and managing the relationship with major world cultural institutions and the most important foreign festivals, but also with diplomatic representatives and offices of the National Institute for Foreign Trade in order to coordinate interventions in support of Cinecittà’s activities worldwide.
The Cinecittà Film Library manages approximately 3,500 copies of the most representative films of Italian production. All films are subtitled in foreign languages to support our cultural promotion worldwide.
In agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a program of initiatives is implemented yearly, reaching more than a hundred foreign countries on average thanks to the collaboration with local diplomatic representatives and the most prestigious international institutions.
