Luce on Sky TG24
10 short films, 10 gems from the Luce Archive on air on Sky TG24 to narrate the history of the Venice Film Festival.
An unprecedented and exclusive ‘live’ connection with the history of the world’s oldest and most fascinating cinematic event, the Venice Film Festival. This is what Luce in the Sky TG24 offers, a series of 10 ‘archive capsules’ produced by the Luce Archive, broadcasted by Sky TG24 from August 31, the official opening day of the Festival, until the end of the event.
10 short films, each lasting a minute or slightly more, 10 archival gems to narrate moments, characters, and atmospheres of the festival’s history from 1948 to 1964. Everything is inside: the Venice of Italian and international stars, the maestros of directing, the awards for memorable films. But above all, the lively and entertaining life of the Lido: the beaches, the funny and relaxed poses, the audience’s desire to be part of a grand event, in a word, the mythology of cinema. Scenes and moments etched into collective memory, preserved in the incredible images within the Luce Archive’s vaults. A window to see the Festival from a unique perspective, a small feast for the eyes and for lovers of the seventh art, accompanying the coverage of the 2022 Festival and showing us all the magic and surprise of an event whose charm never fades, and has enchanted us forever.”
