The Italian Pavilion is back at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival

Italian Pavilion is back, ready to welcome all experts and artistic delegations and Italian industry operators.

With the 2023 Berlin Film Festival (February 16-26), one of the most important theatrical European markets and the perfect venue for meeting, sharing, and debating, Italian Pavilion is back, ready to welcome all experts and artistic delegations and Italian industry operators. The Casa Italiana at the festival is promoted by Cinecittà, the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual – DGCA-MiC, MAECI, ICE Agency, and staged, as in the last editions, both on-site at the Martin Gropius Bau – European Film headquarters Market, stand 03/C6 – and online at www.italianpavilion.it.
The Martin Gropius Bau Pavilion will host all the consolidated network activities – business meetings, conferences, production reception, buyers, and international sellers – within one of the most awaited and lively film markets worldwide. On italianpavilion.it users will find a presentation of the companies and Film Commissions attending the European Film Market, the screening agenda of Italian films at the Berlinale and the Market, and daily selected videos on the Pavilion’s activities and the Market, featuring interviews and insights.
In addition to the usual activities held at the Pavilion, among those dedicated to internationalization, a series of meetings organized by the DGCA-MiC Special Projects office of Cinecittà will take place. The following confirmed partners are to take turns to define their new projects: CNC, Unifrance, BAM-Bogotà Audiovisual Market, Israel Cinema Project-Rabinovich Foundation, and the CEO of the Balkan countries Film Center. Meetings are planned with the new Film Development Council of the Philippines CEO and to resume relations with Asian countries after the pandemic closure, with strategic institutions, such as Unijapan, Kofic, TAICCA.
Furthermore, for the 25th anniversary of the Ibermedia Programme, a meeting has been planned with representatives of the Latin American film industries.
Finally, a series of encounters will support the Italian Screens project planned by DGCA-MiC, Cinecittà, Maeci, and the Academy of Italian Cinema-David di Donatello Awards, for the promotion of Italian films through diplomatic networking, in view of promoting our national culture through more commercial and business-oriented activities.
For this edition, the Italian Pavilion’s dedicated installation found its inspiration in film set lighting, to create luminous rays projected onto the ground to draw three-dimensional spheres in shaded colors.
