From June 11 to 14, Italian cinema lands in Denmark

From June 11 to 14, Italian cinema lands in Denmark with Cinema Made in Italy Copenhagen. Seven films will be screened in four days, featuring some of the best and most recent Italian productions in preview presented by directors and actors. Now at its sixth edition, this special appointment is organized by Cinecittà with the Italian Cultural Institute of Copenhagen.
Francesca Archibugi’s feature The Hummingbird (Il colibrì) opens the film gala (distributed in Denmark by Angel Film). The program includes Emanuele Crialese’s L’immensità, Niccolò Falsetti’s Margini, Mario Martone’s Nostalgia, Gianni Amelio’s The Lord of the Ants (Il signore delle formiche), Roberto Andò’s Strangeness (La stranezza), Andrea Di Stefano’s Last Night of Amore (L’ultima notte di Amore). Among the special guests, Margini’s director Niccolò Falsetti and Tommaso Ragno, starring in Nostalgia.
All movies are screened in Italian with English or Danish subtitles. Free entrance at the Copenhagen Grand Teatret (Mikkel Bryggers Gade, 8).

‘L’oro di Napoli’ by Vittorio De Sica restored by Cinecittà pre-opens Venice

The classic film by and with Vittorio De Sica, L’oro di Napoli (The Gold of Naples, 1954) starring Eduardo De Filippo, Sophia Loren, Silvana Mangano, Paolo Stoppa and Totò, will be the Pre-opening film on Tuesday August 27th of the 81st Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia, on the 50th anniversary of the death of Vittorio De Sica and the 70th anniversary of the film.
