Focus on Italy at the American Film Market
There is a lot of Italy at the 2024 edition of the American Film Market scheduled from November 5 to 10 in Las Vegas.
The Focus on Italy showcase will underline the central role of the Italian film industry on the international audiovisual landscape while illustrating the new tax credit dedicated to non-Italian productions that choose to come and film in our country. Conceived and organized by DGCA-MiC, Cinecittà, APE (Italian Association of Executive Producers) and ITA (Italian Trade Agency), the morning of November 7th includes a panel and a networking event with speakers such as Manuela Cacciamani, Cinecittà CEO, Marco Valerio Pugini, President of APE, Cristina Giubbetti, Vice President of APE, Francesca Rotondo Senior International Sales Manager Cinecittà, and Roberto Stabile, Head of DGCA-MiC Special Projects at Cinecittà.
Endorsed by the great liveliness of our cinema, as proven by the 2023 DGCA-MiC report listing 402 films produced in Italy – +13% compared to 2022, +27% compared to 2019 – and counting 248 audiovisual products (TV and internet) – a double figure compared to 2019 – Focus on Italy wishes to attract new investments in the country and give this happy moment continuity. During the event, the details of the reformed tax credit will be presented, enriched by a showcase to attest Cinecittà’s productive and technical resourcefulness, having once again become the studio where many great titles selected by major festivals are created. The value of APE, the executive producers association, will also be in the spotlight, having supported most of the non-Italian products shot in the country: a turnover of 315 million euros which generated a notable impact on employment considering that most of the crews on the projects were almost entirely Italian.
In this context, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) will be present with a delegation of twelve companies, including production and distribution companies and a Film Commission, ready to represent the excellence of the Italian audiovisual industry and foster new international collaboration opportunities. These companies will be at Palms Casino Resort, LocationEXPO booths #15 and #16, and in suites 11-221, 11-223, 11-225, and 11-227.
