As time goes by – L’uomo che disegnava sogni
Silvano Campeggi, in art “Nano” , is the man who illustrated Italian dreams from the post-war period throughout the sixties. His were the posters for films like Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, Ben Hur and hundreds of others. Born in Florence in 1923, he covered a century. Things that for most of us are black and white images, carriages under Palazzo Vecchio, the liberation of Florence, the arrival of American stars in Rome in the “Hollywood on the Tiber” period, for him are vivid and colourful memories, like the designs he still pèroduces, whistling a little tune and thinking about the time Marilyn asked him: “ Maestro, do I have to undress?”.
