Baby Gang
This story is set against the backdrop of the Neapolitan hinterland, it tells of a day in the life of Luca, a nine-year-old boy who on coming back to town after a stay with his “rustic” Granny, goes to see his brother Mario, a young married man the father of a baby boy. He finds him at the height of a very bad abstinence crisis. Luca decides to go out and look for a dose for him. He steals money from his parents and goes to look for Pellecchia, a well-known, small-time drug-pusher. He finds him thanks to a transvestite called Bucaneve. Pellecchia is the leader of a small band of pushers including Mastino, a fourteen-year-old “tough guy” who takes Luca under his protective wing and takes him out to push the last batch of drugs that has just arrived, in exchange for the dose he needs for his brother. When they get back home they find Bucaneve dead, because the stuff was badly cut. Mastino and Luca go to the pub where the “supplier” hangs out and simply kill him.
