There is trial going on. The case is one for kidnapping physical and psychological violence against a young woman. Her name is Margherita. The accused is her husband Renzo Calabrese. The lawyer, Carabba, the man’s defense, tries to move the jury by means of a series of flashbacks, with a pacific picture of Renzo as a normal, tranquil man, whose life is upset when he meets Margherita. The woman, restless and emancipated, is a convinced feminist and a very often her ideas are quite different from Renzo’s. The two marry but the friction continues until they arrive at a divorce. At this point Renzo rebels and decides to kidnap Margherita, shut her up in a farm house and try to make her taste the role of traditional housewife.
