The political and architectural history of the intended Universal Exhibition of Rome of 1942. From the birth of the plan, inspired by the other similar great events of the century, such as the Chicago World’s Fair, and the Paris and Brussels Expositions, and the start of the work abruptly interrupted by the outbreak of war. The completion of the project with the reconstruction and countless variations that altered its original intended use up until the 1960 Olympics.
