Roberto is a lawyer. He is married to Francesca, a refined and beautiful woman. He works in his father-in-law’s legal office. His life is easy and devoid of shocks. One fine day, however, he receives a letter from a woman, his first adolescent love. The next day, in a Turkish bath, he finds himself acting as the involuntary witness to a murder. The police, who are informed, immediately come on the scene, but they do not find any corpse, so they do not believe him. Not even his family believes him and he, hunted down by the killers, is obliged to leave town. He finds refuge in the house of an actress and wardrobe mistress. But here the assassins find him again.
