La ballata di Eva
After a love misadventure, Eva moved from Naples to Milan to work as a worker, leaving little Melina with her mother. One day, just as she has now obtained accommodation and is about to get the now twelve-year-old girl back with her, her mother lets her know that Melina has mysteriously disappeared. Rushing to Naples, Eva goes on a real odyssey: she does not want to turn to the police; she consults a certain Paschal, who once loved her; he resorts to friends and informants and, finally, is on the good track. Melina has fallen into the sordid network of a strange foreign woman – certain Adolf – who organizes and exploits the performance of teenagers. The dangerous and uncomfortable initiatives and discoveries of the tenacious Eva also yield to the latter a robust beating, but she does not give up: also arrived at the luxurious residence of a Neapolitan politician, who could help her, the woman finds Melina right there, ready for hourly services and, after a furious fight in which the girl so far too docile and submissive also participates, manages to snatch her and escape with her.Determined to forget everything, Eva leaves in the car for Milan, with her daughter whose love she has now won and with a good young man who, eager to escape from an undergrowth of trafficking and crimes, already seems tenderly prone to the idea of making a family.
