Sergio is a forty-year-old bio-architect with a passion for renewable energy. Separated from his wife Valeria, he lives with his seventeen-year-old son Valerio, who has chosen the near indifference of his father, a man busy enjoying his newfound freedom, over his mother’s smothering concern. In search of that same freedom, Valerio secretly heads off to Morocco with three friends: Andrea, who divides his time between smoking joints and searching for girls to seduce; Giacomo, a fan of Moroccan “gnawa” music who has never been to bed with a girl; and Samir, a likeable Moroccan who tells his parents and relatives that he works as a plumber, though he actually gets by in Rome as a small-time pusher of hashish. Valeria, who soon finds out what is going on, forces Sergio to leave for Morocco, setting off a string of adventures for both the father and the three young men.
