Various film-makers intent on reinterpreting the parables of the Gospel. Bernardo Bertolucci returns to the Living Theatre?s avant-garde stage with the episode entitled: “L’agonia” (Agony). Carlo Lizzani creates a neo-realistic Good Samaritan in “L’indifferenza” (Indifference) Pier Paolo Pasolini runs back to Ninetto Davoli?s innocence with “La sequenza del fiore di carta” (The Sequence of the Paper Flower). With “L’amore” (Love) Jean-Luc Godard makes a Brechtian out of the prodigal son. In “Discutiamo, discutiamo” (Let?s Argue… Again) Marco Bellocchio and his university students improvise on the theme of contestation.
