L’uomo che guarda
Dodo, a young university professor has a sexually intriguing morbose relationship with his wife Silvia. Silvia disappears. Mystery is the backdrop against which Dodo weaves all his complex and controversial relationships: his conflictual attitude towards a vainglorious and histrionic father, Alberto, a clumsy, bashful and blatantly sexual relationship with Furita the family servant and nurse, his ambiguous, torridly lustful relationship with one of his black, female students: Pascasie. Dodo goes through a series of flashbacks in an attempt to explain Silvia’s flight. Faced with the unpleasant truth that these memories bring him he prefers, called to engage in the existential struggle involving the “eternal” male and the “mysterious” female, he opts for the Moravian solution of becoming one “who watches”.
