The Sardinian bandit Taddeu accepts payment to meet some tourists in search of excitement. A group of five people catch up to him, but while they try to interview him the police arrive, having discovered the outlaw?s hideout. The tourists? behavior is ambiguous; one of them even fires a shot at the officers. From the “contestation” years comes this debut of a director later to specialize in comedy. Here, on a subject of Flaiano, he faces themes of social criticism with little ingenuity on a backdrop of Sardinian landscapes. The wealthy cast seems a bit out of place.
