Three women: a teacher, a nun and a painter, all obsessed with their spiritual integrity, endeavour to explain how society has reached the peak of decadence from a moral, cultural and political point of view. Little by little and, with a touch of irony, the dialogue reveals their own peculiar life experiences and interweaves them with the story’s events as, through the vision of documentary fragments, uncomfortable truths and unexpected links between public and private responsibilities emerge.
