Vittorio Pozzo – Quando il calcio parlava italiano
16th May 1948. Italy and England national football teams meet in Turin in a friendly match celebrating the 50 years Federazione Italiana Gioco Calcio (Italian Football Federation). The victory against England is the only one missing from the career of Vittorio Pozzo, the coach who with the “azzurri” conquered two World Cups, a golden medal at the Olympic Games, two international cups. Back in time, at the end of 19th century, Vittorio Pozzo is a young boy who follows the first football matches of the pioneers. At the beginning of 20th century, Vittorio himself is training the team of Turin. Later on, during the Fascist period, Pozzo is the only coach of the successful national team. Finally, after the war, Pozzo will have the terrible task to recognize his boys, after the tragedy of Superga, where the players of Grande Torino died. A travel in time, which tells the story of a man and, between the lines of a football pitch, the story of a nation.
