Cinecittà S.p.A. approves the 2023 annual report with a net profit of €1.3ml

EBITDA in growth, industrial revenues +20%

The Board of Directors of Cinecittà S.p.A. has examined and unanimously approved the 2023 annual report, which shows a yearly net profit of 1.3 million euros and a positive result prior to taxation of 1.8 million euros. The Company is again profitable for the second consecutive year, also achieving net equity consolidation and an increase of the initial share capital.

The EBITDA, equivalent to 3 million euros, confirms the efficiency of the operational management, exceeding the already positive figure of the 2022 annual report. The balance sheet result as of 31.12.2023 certifies industrial revenues of over 46 million euros – an increase of 20% compared to the previous year. In the three-year management period 2021-23, the Company has reached a total turnover of 100 million euros from industrial activities. The net profit of the 2022 annual report was 954 thousand euros, and the pre-tax result was 1.3 million euros.

Cinecittà S.p.A. confirms solid and structural growth and consolidates its role as a leader in the domestic and international market. The industrial relaunch, the healthy exploitation of existing assets, the redefinition of the business model and the consequent commercial repositioning (including the development of new commercial strategies linked to stage constructions), a renewed approach to branding, the rationalization and efficiency of production processes have determined the full occupancy of the production spaces, stable at over 70%, and the turnover increase of the Art Department services, at +16% compared to 2022.

The turnover recorded by the individual industrial areas is as follows: Soundstages, Scenography, and Events departments, 40.4 million euros, 21.7 million of which relate to the Art Department and Set Construction; Post-Production, 3.1 million euros; ‘Cinecittà Shows Off, 823 thousand euros; and other revenues, 2.6 million euros.

The progress of the Recovery Plan Project is currently in line with the European and national targets, and all the activities necessary to achieve the last European objective, set for 30 June 2026, have been launched. By June 2023, the 9 European tenders linked to the 5 new stages and the 4 to be renovated were assigned within the timescales set by the European Commission. An important result has already been achieved: the first stage (number 7) has been completed and is about to host the first productions.
