Tommaso comes home from drug rehabilitation and finds that nothing has changed. His mother Anna, having given up any ambition of her own, is a slave to her family and home. His father Massimo, a magistrate of unbending principles, is obsessed with his cases. Tommaso has no idea what he wants from life, what his role is. He lets his father place him in a friend’s prestigious law firm. Now Tommaso must finish his studies and start a legal career. Bored to death, he quickly returns to his old ways. And to drugs. His parents sense something is wrong, but they write it off to the difficulty of starting over. Then Tommaso leaves the law firm, forcing Massmo to see that his plans have rekindled the boy’s drug habit. He has no idea how to help Tommaso, only this time it is the son who finally takes the initiative, clashing with the father and leaving home.
