MUSEUM VISIT
The museum area includes the exhibitions of Cinecittà si Mostra, Felliniana – Ferretti dreams Fellini, Shooting in Cinecittà and Backstage – An educational route through Cinecittà, the MIAC – Italian Museum of Moving Images and the gardens.
Set elements and sculptures demonstrating the essential work of set design and set dressing that characterises Italian cinema are dotted around the gardens of Cinecittà, including the Rocking Horse and the Fairy’s Carriage from Roberto Benigni’s Pinocchio (2002), the head of Venusia from Fellini’s Casanova (1976), the permanent set from the popular TV series Un medico in famiglia and a landscape setting.
The visit is self-guided and visitors may decide how to allot their time between watching the films, reading the information, admiring the photographs, interacting with the multimedia content and observing the sets and film sculptures in the gardens.
The sets
Un medico in famiglia set : the outdoor set is a self-guided visit. The exterior of the villas may be viewed from the garden; it is not possible to go inside. The interior scenes were shot on soundstages which are not open to the public.
Visits to the set of Ancient Rome are possible only in accordance with production usage.
The studios and backlots are not open to visitors.
